Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. The Divine Redeemer Conference helps those in need in the Quaker Valley, Coraopolis and Neville Island areas. We often work with other agencies such as Union Aid and the Salvation Army to name a few and are funded primarily through the kindness of our parishoners. Those interested should contact John Nard at 724-251-9169 or [email protected]
Over the last couple of years the Divine Redeemer conference of St. Vincent de Paul has grown to 10 members. Our most recent conference member attends St. Joseph Church in Coraopolis. We now have representatives from all three Catholic Churches that comprise our conference area - Saint James, Saint Mary and Saint Joseph. This is a first for our conference. It allows us to more efficiently serve our neighbors in need of assistance.
Without the help of parishioners whom have supported us, whether it be financially or with their time & talents, we would not be able to serve our neighbors. Most of the individuals and families we help are on a fixed income, unemployed or receiving marginal support to cover their basic needs - food, shelter and clothing. Savings for an emergency need is not something they can normally obtain.
Thank you for your past support and we ask that you continue to be generous to the Divine Redeemer conference of St. Vincent de Paul.
As our Good Lord said - “Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me.”
